Significant Intervals Of Verses In Scripture

By G. A. Simpkins

Introduction

G
reetings to all of my brothers and sisters in Messiah. I am 58 years old, and a believer in Yeshua since the last day of Unleavened Bread in 1993. My wife and I have been married 36 years and have four children. We live in east Tennessee.

Barbara Di Gilio has graciously asked me to share some things that the Holy Spirit showed me in my studies of Scripture, and has offered to post them in Mayim Hayim.

I hope that these insights will edify your spirit and bolster your faith. Blessings to all that read.

Numerical Significance

No doubt those of you who have done more than casual reading of Scripture have noticed that there appears to be a pattern in which certain numbers seem to be connected with certain things. This is no coincidence. In statistical science, a four-to-one or five-to-one chance is considered to be of some significance. After looking at some of the following examples, you may begin to wonder whether they are simply random occurrences, or are divinely intended.

The Scriptures contain all that one needs to determine that humanity is fallen and is in need of reconciliation with God. They point unerringly to Yeshua as the only way to be reconciled with God. All that is necessary are within their pages except for the faith, which we must have. The message of salvation can be understood by a child, and yet the Scriptures are so profound and deep that no one can ever discern all of their depths or all of the many ways in which they communicate truth to us. Each new layer of communication discerned only adds to our total awe of our Creator and of His Word, the Bible.

EVERYTHING IN THE SCRIPTURES IS IMPORTANT!

Thirteen is the Biblical number for Rebellion and Depravity. Nimrod was thirteenth in the line of Ham. In the 14th chapter of Genesis, the five sodomite cities rebelled in the thirteenth year of their confederation. In the 7th chapter of Mark, Jesus names thirteen things which come from the rebellious and depraved heart of man.

Gen. 2:17 13th verse 3:4: God commands and warns Adam that he will die if he eats of the tree of knowledge; Serpent tells the first lie, that Adam won't die, in the 13th verse after that.

Rev. 12:9 13th verse 13:4: Dragon is cast down to earth; world worships the dragon in the 13th verse after that.

1st Sam.17:57 13th verse is 18:11: Saul receives David, then attempts to murder him in the 13th verse.

2 Sam. 11:2 13th verse 11:15: David spies Bathsheba bathing; David orders her husband murdered in the 13th verse after that.

2 Sam 13:2 13th verse 13:14: Amnon sick with lust for his half-sister Tamar; he rapes her, 13th verse afterwards.

Mat 26:2 13th verse 26:14: Jesus announces that He will be betrayed; Judas goes to high priest to offer his help in betraying our Lord, 13th verse after that.

Mark 15:1 13th verse 15:13: Chief priests have a counsel; In the 13th verse after that, they cry "Crucify him!"

John 18:15 13th verse 18:27: Peter followed Jesus; Peter denied Jesus for the third time in the 13th verse after that.

The number fourteen is the Biblical number for
Salvation. Jesus died on the cross that we might be saved on the 14th day of the first month, precisely when all of Israel began killing the Passover. His blood sealed the New Covenant forever, that whosoever believes on Him shall be saved. Three sets of genealogies are given in the first chapter of the book of Matthew, in sets of fourteen that lead to the birth of our Messiah, by whom salvation is made possible.

Luke 7:37-7:50: A woman who was a sinner brought a box of expensive ointment and anointed Jesus' feet; Jesus told the woman that her faith had saved her, and to go in peace, in the 14th verse after that.

Luke 8:41-8:54: Jairus fell at Jesus' feet to ask him to save his only daughter; Jesus commanded the dead child to arise, the 14th verse after that.

Ex. 14:14-14:27: Moses tells Israel that the Lord shall fight for them; the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the Red Sea the 14th verse after that. (Note vs. & chapter this began)

Dan. 2:12-2:25: Daniel's three companions accused of failing to worship the kings phallic idol; The king saw four men walking about unhurt in the furnace, in the 14th verse from that.

Seventeen is the Biblical number for
Victory. Our Lord Jesus was raised from the grave on the seventeenth day of the first month, on the Feast of Firstfruits.

Luke 23:46 17th verse 24:6: Jesus died; He is risen in the 17th verse after that.

Mark 15:37 17th verse 16:6: Jesus died; He is risen in the 17th verse after that.

Dan. 6:11 17th verse 6:28: Conspirators spy on Daniel to report his praying; Daniel prospers in the
kingdom, 17th verse afterward.

Nineteen is the Biblical number of
Faith. In the 11th chapter of Hebrews, there are nineteen people of faith listed. Grace is represented by five, and salvation by fourteen. 5+14=19

"For by grace (5) are ye saved (14) through faith (19); and not that of yourselves: the gift of God:" (Eph. 2:8)

Mark 5:23-41: Jairus says that if Jesus will but lay hands on his daughter she will recover and live; Jesus commands the girl to arise, 19th verse from there.

Luke 17:19 "thy faith hath made you whole." (19th vs.)

John 11:3-21: Jesus is told that Lazarus is sick; Martha tells Him that if he had been there, Lazarus would be alive the 19th verse after that.

Twenty-three is a Biblical number representing
Death. In the 1st chapter of Romans we read of twenty-three things, verses 29 through 31. In verse 32 we read that they "Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

Thirteen represents rebellion and depravity of spirit, and ten represents law and testimony. 13+10=23

"The sting of death (23) is sin and the strength of sin (13) is the law (10)." (1 Cor. 15:56)

"I was alive without the law once; but when the commandment (10) came, sin (13) revived, and I died (23)."

Gen. 7:1-7:23: God told Noah to come into the ark; 23rd verse after that, all life on earth was destroyed, in verse 23.

II Sam. 17:1-17:23: Ahithophel gave counsel to king David's son, Absalom on how to kill David, and volunteers to do it; 23rd verse after that, he hangs himself in verse 23.

Forty is the Biblical number of
Trials, Tests, and Probation. Jesus was tested forty days after His baptism, and Israel was tested forty years after their rebellion in refusing to possess the land of Canaan.

Gen. 18:17, 40th verse is Gen 19:23: God begins to tell Abraham that He will judge Sodom and Gomorrah; Lot Is delivered safely to the gates of Zoar after passing his Period of probation, when the angels found that Lot's Family did not live as the sodomites. (This was Passover, and is a prime type of the church being takenFrom this world, which is why Jesus told us "Remember Lot's wife".)

Est. 4:16 40th verse is 7:10: Esther announces fasting and praying for three days and nights on eve of Passover, requesting Jews to do likewise. Haman hanged 40th verse afterward, after the Jews passed their period of probation by fasting and praying. (Their deliverance was on what would be the resurrection day of Jesus.)

Rev. 12:12 40th verse 14:16: "devil is come down unto you having great wrath"- Resurrection and catching away of the Church 40th verse after that. Church will fulfil its period of probation. (Judgement always begins in the house of God, and ALL revivals recorded in the scriptures began with cleaning the Temple.)

The number fifty is the Biblical number for
Redemption and for the Holy Spirit. In Israel, any land that had been sold was redeemed to the family, which had originally held it in the fiftieth year, on the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.

Ruth 1:17 50th verse is 4:13: Ruth pledges undying love and devotion to Naomi; Ruth married to Boaz, 50th verse from her pledge, which redeemed Naomi's land as a widow of Israel, as Boaz paid the redemption price. Clearly the Holy Spirit was working in this story. Not only that, but Lot's seed was redeemed as well, being grafted into the Royal Line itself, as the Moabites were descendants of Lot (Gen. 19:37).

Lev. 23:31-25:13: God tells Moses that the Day of Atonement is a Yearly Sabbath forever; God tells Moses That in the Jubilee year on the Day of Atonement that Every man's possession was to be redeemed to him, in the fiftieth verse from that.

Gen. 24:12-61: Abraham's servant Eliazar prays to God For His help to choose a bride for Isaac; Eliazar leaves With Isaac's bride, Rebekah, whom he redeemed from Her father with the gifts of betrothal, in the fiftieth Verse from his prayer.
Surely the Holy Spirit was Working here!

Relationship of Gematria to Chapters

G
ematria is the numerical value assigned to a Hebrew letter. In many cases, this is how numbers are expressed in the Hebrew Canon of scripture. A gentleman by the name of Al Neal has found among other things that the gematria of a word can correspond to the number of a chapter in the King James Version of the Bible. He has done enough work in this area to persuade me that there are too many of these to be taken as coincidence. For example:

The name satan is spelled with three letters in Hebrew. Shin = 300 Tet = 9 Nun = 50 Gematria
of Satan = 359

Now turn to the 359th chapter of the Bible: "And satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David
to number Israel." (I Chronicles 21:1)

The 359th day of the solar Roman (pagan) calendar is December 25th, Christmas.

Is that a coincidence? December 25th was considered to be the rebirth of Mithra, the sun-god, and before that in Egypt, it was the birthday of Ra, the sun-god. Before that, in Babylon it was considered to be the birthday of Tammuz, who descended from heaven in a brightly multicolored egg (sound familiar?), which fell into the Euphrates River. To all of these ancient cultures this was the day we would have known as the Winter Solstice, which marks when the days begin to get longer, hence the sun-god was reborn, or reincarnated. It isn't too difficult to imagine satan's minions in Rome counting backwards 359 days from the birth of Tammuz to establish their pagan, satan-honoring
'New Years Day, especially since God established the true Biblical 'New Years Day' in the 12th chapter of Exodus, as in the Springtime.
