The Hymn - Te Deum
My Own Update Messianic Rending - Rev. Barbara A. Di Gilio
The Te Deum is an early Christian hymn of praise. The hymn follows the outline of the Apostle's Creed in part, mixing a poetic vision of the heavenly liturgy with its declaration of faith. This is my own version, and I use it some mornings when I pray. I can't pray it without crying. Hope you'll enjoy praying it also. --BD
Lord, open my lips to praise Your Holy Name. Cleanse my heart of worthless, evil or distracting thoughts. Give me the wisdom and love necessary today to pray this Office with attention, reverence and devotion to You. Father, let my prayers be heard in Your Holy Presence, for it is offered to You though Yeshua the Messiah, my Lord and Savior. Help me proclaim Adonai Your praises on behalf of Your whole holy Body at large. Amen.
Lord, You are God, and we praise You! Lord, You are Adonai; and we acclaim You! Lord, You are Eternal Father, and all creation worships You!
To all the holy angels, all the powers of Heaven, to Cherubim and Seraphim who sing in endless praise: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of power and might, we proclaim Heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
The glorious company of holy Apostles praise You.
The noble fellowship of seers, Your prophets, they praise You.
The while-robed army of holy martyrs, praise You also.
Throughout the world the holy Church, Your Body, acclaims You:
Father, of majesty unbounded, Your true and only Son is worthy of all worship, and The Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide, we bless and praise You as One.
You Adonai Messiah, are the King of Glory, the Eternal Son of the Loving Father.
When you became a man to set us free, You did not spurn the lowly Jewish virgin's womb.
You overcame the sting of death, and opened the Kingdom of Heaven to all Believers.
You are seated at God's right hand of power in Glory.
We believe that You will come again O Righteous One, and judge Your people in truth.
Come then Adonai, and help Your people Israel, for they were bought with the price of Your own precious blood. Bring us all together Adonai, and make us truly one. May all who love You Lord God; enter into the Your everlasting Realm of Shalom.
Hear our cry:Save Your people, and bless Your Inheritance Israel.
Govern and uphold them now by Your Love.
Day by day we bless You.
We bless and praise Your Holy Name forever.
Keep us today Adonai, from all sin, and from all the evils of the wicked one.
Have mercy on us, and on our country, heal us for Your glory.
Adonai God, show us Your love and Your mercy, and not Your wrath.
God, we put our trust in only You, You are our Source of everything.
In You, Lord God, is our hope, and we know we shall never hope in vain, because Your Word tells us "You will never forsake us." You are Faithful to see to our good end. Your are the Author and Perfecter of faith.
I love you Adonai, You are my Savior, the self-Existent One, Yahveh, and there is no other Savior but God. (Isaiah 43:11, Isaiah 45:21, Isaiah 49:26, Isaiah 60:16; Hosea 13:4).
Amen and Amen.
