A
Fresh Look At The Biblical
Hebrew Calendar
Part I
To start with, we need to ask ourselves a few questions about the Hebrew dates in the Bible. 1. Are the Biblical dates in the Hebrew calendar important? 2. What do they teach us about G-d? We will try and answer these questions at the end of this article. This article is provocative, so let us start with prayer:
Our Father, we come and ask you to
reveal to us the reason why You have put these dates in the Hebrew Scripture. We ask to see the patterns set by
these dates. We pray You will show us the glory that You put into the Heavens. We also ask to see the glory in
Your Messiah, this we ask in the Holy Name of Him who comes in the volume of the book, Yeshua, Amen.
Now, not all events that take place in the Bible have dates
attached to them. The ones that do however, can teach us much if we study them out. Nonetheless, the reason for
this article is to provoke YOU to do the studying. I have
put the Hebrew letters in front of each month, and will give the meanings for the names of the months. I have also
included the assigned Hebrew tribe to that month, as well as the assigned sign in heavens, that G-d allowed to
be so named.
Calendars
Jewish calendar - Gregorian calendar - The Jewish Jubilee Calendar
The Jewish calendar:
This calendar G-d
viewed by numbers for the months, but He divided them into the 4 seasons. The month Abib (Ex. 13:4; 23:15) was
the first month, and the start of the first of the 4 seasons. This was around the months March/April on Gregorian
calendar, and was the time of the barley harvest. The current Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar, based on lunar
months of 29 days alternating with 30 days. An every 3 years, add an extra month, based on a cycle of 19 years.
Dates of the Jewish calendar are designated two ways.
1. AM (Latin anno mundi, “the year of the world”).
2. BCE (before the common era).
The Gregorian calendar:
This calendar is
also known as the "Roman Christian calendar" because it uses the birth of Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah),
as a starting date. Dates of the Christian era are often designated in two way also.
1. AD (Latin anno domini, “in the year of our L-rd”).
2. BC (before Christ).
As indicated, the Gregorian calendar is basically a Christian calendar. The official Christian church calendar
is a table containing the holy days, saints' days, and festivals of the "Roman church," with the dates
of the civil calendar on which they occur. These include the fixed feasts, such as Christmas, and the movable feasts,
which depend on the date of Easter.
The most important early church calendar was compiled by Furius Dionisius Philocalus about 354 AD. After the Reformation,
the German Lutheran church retained the Roman calendar, as did the Church of England and some other Anglican churches.
The calendar of the Protestant Episcopal church retains only those festivals that have a Scriptural origin. The
principal seasons of the Roman church calendar observed by most Christians are, in order, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany,
Lent, Easter, Ascension, Pentecost, and Trinity.
The Jewish Jubilee Calendar:
In Qumran in 1947, there were apocalyptic scrolls found, among them, the Book of Jubilees
and second Temple writings of Enoch, which discuss the calendar and dating system by which these people lived.
Scholars had not paid much attention to the Apocryphal Calendar before this find, but interest was renewed with
the discovery of these scrolls by which the Qumran sect lived. It is based on 364 days per year. The year is divided
into four periods (to correspond to the four seasons of the year), of 13 weeks or 91 days in each period. There
are 12 months in each year or a total of 52 weeks. The Sectarian (Essenes) solar calendar, which is unlike the
lunar calendar of non-Sectarian Judaism (Sadducees and Pharisees), is remarkable for its regularity. [The first
day of the New Year always falls on Wednesday. This meant that the Day of Atonement always fell on a Friday; Tabernacles
on a Wednesday; Passover on a Wednesday; and the Feast of Weeks on a Sunday. By using this exact measure, the holy
days all fall exactly on the same day, every year. The Talmud does not explain this calendar exactly, but does
mention the argument of the calendars between the Pharisees and the Boethusians.] From more see the RESEARCHER 1. 2.
Hebrew Months - Signs In The Heavens -Tribes - Biblical Dates
Aleph -1
- ABIB - NISAN
The first month of the Jewish sacred year is Abib or Nisan
Abib - meaning: to be tender or green, i.e. a young ear of grain
Nisan (Nissan) means: their flight
The letter Aleph is over this first month, and the first commandment given to the newly born Nation of Israel before the Exodus from Egypt was clear: "This month (the month of Abib - Nisan) shall be for you the first of the months" (Exodus 12:2). The month of Abib - Nisan begins the season of the spring. The three months of this season are Nisan, Iyar, Sivan. Nisan is referred to as "the month of the great redemption." According to the accepted opinion of the sages: "In Nissan our forefathers were redeemed from Egypt and in Abib - Nisan we will be redeemed" (Tractate Rosh HaShanah 11a). Tractate Rosh HaShanah 11a is correct, "In Abib - Nisan our forefathers were indeed redeemed from Egypt and in Abib we were redeemed by Messiah Yeshua when He died for our sins, as the Passover Lamb who brought us great redemption!" In the ancient Hebrew AlephBet, the Aleph is a picture of an "ox" and stands for the father or strong leader of the house. As we will see the pictures in the heavens, and in the Hebrew letters show the glory painted for us before the foundation of the world by the Father of all glory.
Abib - Nisan Mazal: (Aries - Ram - Lamb)
Abraham told Isaac, "My son, G-d will provide Himself
a lamb for a burnt offering: so Abraham and Isaac went both of them together...And Abraham lifted up his eyes,
and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and
offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place 'Yahovahyireh':
as it is said to this day, In the mount of the L-RD it shall be 'seen'" Genesis 22:8,13-14. What was seen? I believe it was the great redemption of the world Abraham
was shown, Yeshua on the tree (cross) paying the great price for our sins.
The word mazal is singular, and mazzaroth is the plural Hebrew word for zodiac found in Job
38:32. The word zodiac is Greek, taken from the Greek word "zoad" meaning: "ladder or steps."
The book of Genesis tells us plainly, that G-d placed the constellation in the heavens for signs and for seasons. (Genesis 1:14) This
is not astrology!
In this constellation of Aries there are 3 key stars
whose names tell a story of the Ram i.e. Lamb.
1. El Nath - meaning: "the wounded"
2. El Natick - meaning: "the bruised"
3. Al Sharetan - meaning: "the slain"
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
The symbolizes of the Pesach sacrifice, the first sacrifice of the Jewish people to their G-d, was indeed a little lamb. This was what G-d had said it would take for the great redemption for the Hebrew household. Yeshua is symbolized as that perfect Lamb by our Hebrew Scripture! Yes, provided by His Father, for the sins of the whole house of Israel (Israel and Judah together), however, not just Israel alone, but for anyone who would call on G-d of Israel. Of all of G-d's creations, the little lamb possesses the innate ability to arouse mercy by its heartfelt cry, which arouses in us compassion. The Aleph which stands for "the Formost," our Father in Heaven, gave to the world that perfect Lamb which was "Formost", so redemption could come to YOUR household, whoever YOU are! Will YOU accept the Lamb who is the Aleph, that G-d gave?
"Thus saith the L-RD the King of Israel, and His Redeemer (Saviour) the L-RD of hosts; I am the First (Aleph), and I am the Last (Tav); and beside Me there is no G-d." (Isaiah 44:6)
"And when I (John) saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid
His right hand upon me, saying unto me, 'Fear not; I am the First (Aleph) and
the Last (Tav): I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I AM alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys
of hell and of death.'" Revelation 1:17-18
Abib - Nisan Tribe: Judah
Judah is the tribe of kings. Judah's name means: praise, praise ye Yah. Yeshua, the Messiah came from the tribe
of Judah. He is the "first and only begotten of the Father." Aleph stands for "First,"
therefore this month is seen as Chief
in G-d's eyes. This is a holy month filled with wonder and awe, and many mighty symbol's of the Passover meal. There is much beauty in this month as we see the almond trees bloom in Israel, and all
this was designed by G-d for the month of Abib - Nisan... There is more,
see what you can find in your study of this month, and every other month by reading the Scriptures of biblical
dates found in the Word of G-d.

Nehemiah 2:1, Esther 3:7
Bet 2 - ZIV- IYAR
Ziv means: Splendor - Radiance
Refers to: The beauty of a flowers blooming at this season.
The month of Iyar is commonly called the month of healing.
Its name is an acronym for "I am G-d your Healer"
- Exodus 15:26.
The Hebrew letter Bet stands over this month, G-d's House, the place of the Temple of the
L-RD. When you put Aleph Bet together, you spell the word "Father." His first Temple (Father House) was filled with great splendor and radiance following the pattern G-d
given to king David. However, His second Temple was filled with even greater glory because Messiah Yeshua walked
in it. The "Son of G-d," our Healer came to earth to do just that, heal
all who would call on Him!
In this second month we see Moses leading the children of Israel out to meet with G-d. They have come through the
Red Sea, and encounter marah, the "bitter" waters of the desert. Murmuring against Moses, they said,
"What shall we drink?" "Then
Moses cried out to the L-RD; and the L-RD showed Moses a "tree" which when he had cast it into the waters,
the waters were made sweet. There He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He tested them. He said,
If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the L-RD thy G-d, and will do that which is right in His sight,
and will give an ear to His Commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee,
which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the L-RD that Healeth thee." (Ex 15:24-26) This was not Moses speaking, but G-d the Holy Spirit through Moses speaking. Water is always
associated with the Holy Spirit of G-d. The tree is a picture of the wooden stake (cross) that Messiah would one
day bear for us to take the bitterness of sin out of our lives. Our bitter water is made sweet by the Yeshua hanging
on the wood for us. God painted a very clear picture here in His Word.
Iyar - Ziv Mazal: "Shor" (Taurus - The Bull or Ox)
The month of Iyar is the month that brings to mind that our "G-d brought them (Israel) out of Egypt. The L-RD
has as it is said, the strength of an wild bull (a unicorn). In Hebrew, the root "shor" also means: to
look or observe. Iyar is the month of great contemplation for the sake of improvement of self, but for self, but
on behalf of others. G-d had in mind "Israel's good" when He healed the bitter waters of Marah, and led
them to Elim, the place of 70 palms.
"So they came to Elim, where there was twelve wells of water, and 70
palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters." (Ex 15:27) "Then they set out from Elim, and all
the congregation of the sons of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth
day of the second month after their departure from the land of Egypt."
(Ex 16:1)
Twelve (12) wells and seventy (70) palms paint this wonderful picture.
Yod = 10 = the right hand of G-d - Bet = 2 = the house of G-d - the Ayin = 70
= the eye of G-d and also a fountain or spring. This month teaches us that
when G-d brings us out from bondage, He does it with His mighty right hand. It also reminds us that G-d desired
a house to dwell in on the earth with His people. The Tabernacle was such a place. The ayin reveals to us, "that the eyes of the L-RD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly
support those whose heart is completely His." (II Chronicles 16:9) "Therefore with joy shall all of you
draw water out of the wells of Salvation (Yeshua)." Isaiah 12:3
An Ayin Bet spells the Hebrew word for "cloud," which covered
Israel, and acted like as the hand of G-d leading and guiding Israel from place to place.
There is a group of stars about the mazal: "Shor" (Taurus), it
is "Auriga," the Shepherd.
It is His job of caring for the flock. In Latin, the name "Auriga" means: "the conductor of with
the reigns."
"The L-RD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the L-RD for ever." Psalm 23 |
Iyyar - Ziv -Tribe: Issachar
It is said, that Issachar is the learned and scholarly tribe of Israel. The counsel of the Sanhedren were mostly
composed from the tribe of Issachar we believe. Notably, the tribe of Issachar were the sea (see) sages, and knew
the "mysteries" of the Jewish calender, and not only the Jewish calender, but many other things. As is
said of the tribe: "men who understand the times and the seasons."
- "Issachar will call peoples to the mountain, the House of G-d (the Temple); there they will offer righteous
sacrifices; for they will draw out the abundance of the seas (seer), and the hidden treasures of the sand."
The basic nature of the tribe of Issachar (dwelling
with us) was meditative. Deeper and richer then most other
of the other tribes, with the exception of the tribes of Judah and Levi.
"The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi,
and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:" Genesis 35:23
My Shemology of the names found in Genesis 35:23:
"See a son (Israel), hear him, be joined to him, for he brings reward (by existence) dwelling with us." Barbara Di Gilio
"By existence," is the root of the name "Issachar" and points to Messiah who is the embodiment of Israel!

Gimel 3 - SIVAN
Sivan means: bright - their covering
Sivan is the third of the twelve months of the Jewish calendar.
The month that the L-RD G-d gave the Torah to Israel.
The third letter in the Hebrew AlephBet, a Gimel, is assigned for this third month. This is
the month that G-d lifted up Moses and gave to him, His Torah (G-d's teaching,
guidance and instruction). In honor of this third month, The Merciful One, gave to Israel
not just His Torah, but the seeds of all Scriptures. The
threefold Hebrew Bible was birth in Torah. Revealed by the Neviem (the Prophets),
and sung about in the Ketuvim (the Psalms), they were all planted in Israel in this month. Really,
before the earth was formed!
The Hebrew letter Gimel is a picture of a "camel." It has the ancient
meanings of: "to lift up" - and as all the Hebrew characters, they can have both a positive and negative
meaning. Yeshua said, "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever Believes in Him should not perish (die), but have Eternal
Life." (John 3:14-15)
What we have here is so very clear, Messiah was going to be lifted up, raise up on a pole like that serpent in
the wilderness. That serpent became healing to Israel when they (Israel) looked on it. "And the L-RD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent,
and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks upon it, shall
live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten
any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived." - Numbers 21:8-9. This was fulfilled when Yeshua was put
on the tree (cross) for all who would look upon Him would be healed. Thus the third month is a strong Word picture
for us to see. Now, on another third day, Messiah Yeshua was lifted up, but this
lifting was after His death. He was raised to newest of Life because of the Holy Spirit of G-d!
Sivan's Mazal: "Teomim" (Gemini - Twins)
It is said, that the the twins connotes the two identical "tablets" of the Covenant given to Moses. Others
say it symbolizes, the two "Covenants" given to Moses. The first at Mt. Sinai, and the second in Moab,
the place called the "seed of the father."
The giving of the Torah to Israel is also referred to, as a "Wedding" between G-d and His bride Israel.
like husband and wife, the 2 seen as 1 in G-d's eyes. In Song of Songs chapter 5, the highest level of marriage
is referred to as bride and groom being identical (undefiled; perfect) twins on there wedding day. What a pretty
picture that is to me, oneness in perfection in G-d's eyes, on oue wedding day, just lovely I think!
There are many archetypal twins in the Torah. The most famous pair are twin
brothers, Jacob and Esau. These twins are not only non-identical, but opposites in their nature. It is said that
in every Jewish person, you can find these two natures. One represents Jacob, the good inclination (nature), while
Esau represents the evil inclination (nature). Is this true? Yes beloved, I believe this is true. This evil inclination
(nature) can be found not just in Jewish people, but in all of mankind because of the fall of Adam. However in
Messiah Yeshua, there is none! For He came forth from the Father, which is pure. What
about Yeshua, can we see any twins related to Him? I think we can find it in John's opening chapter.
"In the beginning was the Word (Torah), and the Word (Torah) was with
G-d, and the Word (Torah) was G-d. The same was in the beginning (genesis) with G-d. All things were made by Him;
and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men. And the
Light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
Our twins are, the Word and the Torah!
And these are "Identical" in nature.
Yeshua came to establish the Torah,
(G-d's Teaching, guidance, and instruction).
One of the major stars in this constellation of Gemini, is called Nazseirene (Nazarene), which has the meaning: "the sent prince." Messiah Yeshua is that "sent Prince!" Sent to earth to take our old nature, that's evil, and give us a new nature, one from "above" (Heaven - G-d). Yeshua's nature was a good, He never had an evil nature like fallen mankind has. This is the nature of the Torah! - Wherefore Paul tells us, "...the Torah is holy, and the Commandment holy, and just, and good." (Romans 7:12) Now, how can you take issue with that? you can't!
Sivan - Tribe: Zebulun
Zebulun is commonly pictured as the "manager of commerce" really, ship and sea traders was their calling. It is Zebulun who supports his brother Issachar
study of the deeper thing in Torah. Kabbalah teaches there is always something higher inherent in a "cause"
than in its "result." Corresponding to this principle, the Arizal explains that the origin of the soul
of Zebulun is seen in the crown (keter), which is above that of his brother Issachar, in whom dwelled wisdom (chochmah).
Zebulun means: "to dwell - to dwell with, or to inhabit - habitation."
- This Scripture comes to mind: "The
L-RD is my strength and song, and He is become my Salvation (Yahshuah - Yeshua comes from the same root word):
He is my G-d, and I will prepare Him an habitation (navah - meaning: a place to rest); my Father's G-d, and I will
exalt Him (lifted Him up)." (Exodus 15:2)
There is great wisdom in exalting, lifted up G-d, our Father.
Another part of this constellation of Gemini, is a star named Casore, which means: "the coming ruler."
It is heavenly picture of the Messiah, that Believers await. Believers know Messiah has already come once, and
await His second coming to rule on the earth, in Jerusalem. Jews however, do believe Messiah is coming, and that
it will be His first coming. Twin comings, twin rule, twin Messiah's! - Messiah
ben Joseph, the suffering servant in His first coming, and Messiah ben David, the ruling King in His second coming,
each having their place of rule. The first was in the Heavens, the second on
the earth in the Jerusalem. Yet these twins are "one" and the same person, Yeshua
the Messiah, King of all the heavens and the earth!

Sivan in the Bible
Sivan 1 - Ezekiel 31:1
Sivan 15 - Exodus 19:1
Sivan 23 - Esther 8:9
Other Events in Sivan: 1 Chronicles 27:5, 2 Chronicles 15:10, 31:7 Acts 2
Dalet 4 - TAMMUZ
Tammuz means: Hidden - giver of the vine - Hebrew root: burning
Tammuz is also a Phoenician deity: Ezekiel 8:14
The month of Tammuz begins the "tekufah" (season) of the summer.
The three months of this second season, are Tammuz, Av and Elul
The letter Dalet, the door, gate, or entrance is over this month. The month Tammuz is called
the month of the "great sin." This is because of the sin of the golden calf, which took place at the
base (foot- foundation) of Mt. Sinai. This resulted in the shattering of the two sapphire tablets on which G-d
wrote with His own finger.
This day was the 17th of Tammuz, and begins a three week period which ends
on that ill-famed day, the 9th of Av. This dark day commemorates the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in
70 CE/AD. On this same day many many years later, the Spanish Jews were expelled from Spain, the date was the 9th
of Av, 1492.
This is also the month that the 12 spies sent by Moses, traveled through out the land of Israel and brought back
a bad report to the people of Israel. By the way, we are told by our sages, they returned on the eve of the 9th
of Av. Ten of the spies did not bring back a good report, fear had grip their hearts instead of trusting faith
in the Word's of their G-d. Only Joshua and Caleb had trusting faith to believe what G-d
had spoken to them.
The month of Tammuz is really a dark month for Israel, one filled with gross abominations in the sight of Almighty
G-d. Yet this month, is the month of the "Door" because not all was lost for Israel. Joshua and Caleb,
and all the children of Israel under 20 years of age would one day enter the Door to the Promise Land. However,
it would take 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, before that "Door" would be open to them again.
The next time it would be in Moab, the place called "seed of the father," and thru a very odd "Door"-
the Promise Seed, their rest in the Land would be secured. Will talk more about this Door later, but it was Joshua who would lead them in, and Caleb, the grafted in gentile who would go with him.
Do you see the picture painted here by the Word?
Tammuz - Mazal: Cancer ( The Crab)
Cancer has a few meanings: one is "rest secured,"
that is what G-d wanted for Israel from the very start. She was to have "rest secured" for her in the
Land of Promise, Israel. The word sartan is understood as being composed of two words Hebrew words, "sar"
and "tan" which would literally read: "remove the body." What does this reveal? It reveals the soul of mankind is not hidden in a shell like the crab. And by
the means of the power of "sight" given to mankind, things are revealed in order for him to see the reality
of the Divine G-d, his own nature and "Lifeforce" of all life! That
Lifeforce of Light, it is the Messiah Yeshua, the Light of the world!
"Then Yeshua spoke again to them, saying,
I am the Light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life." John 8:14
Tammuz Tribe: Reuben
The name Reuben comes from the Hebrew root "to see - to see a son," showing us a lack of the sight in
the month of Tammuz. Reuben's stone set in the breastplate of the high priest is the precious stone called: "odem," the ruby.
Ruby is so name because of its firey brilliant red color (odem means: red). Red is the most
seductive of all colors, does this color imply the fall of man as some believe? In Hebrew odem - red, has the same spelling as the word Adam
- man, as in the sin of the golden calf. Or maybe it teaches us about the ultimate blood red sacrifice, bring with it, the second coming of Messiah (Mashiach)
on the day of Atonement. We will have "to see" just what "Reuben" will reveal to us in the
future...

Hey 5 - AV
Menachem-Av, [the consoler of Av]
The name Av literally means: "father."
It derives from the root which means "to will" or "to desire."
The Hebrew letter Hey is assigned to this month, and it means: "to reveal," and stands for the Divine Spirit of G-d. This month brings Israel to it's "lowest point" on the Jewish calendar. The 9th of Av was the day of the sins of the 10 spies, as well as the destruction of both Temples Jerusalem. This day brakes the hearts of Jewish people all over the world.
However, the month has what some call a "high point" as well. It is the 15th of Av, and it is said to
be the day, that one may find one's predestined soul-mate because the "Divine" is a "Menachem"
(Comforter). "And I will pray to the Father, and He shall give you another
"Menachem" (Comforter), that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world
cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither do they know Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and
shall be in you." (John 14:16-17)
Relative to all other souls in Israel, the soul of the Messiah Yeshua comes to redeem Israel from her state of sin. This redeeming is said to be like a "Bridegroom who washes his new Bride from her blood on their wedding night. Comforting her with his love, he acts like Av, the Father our Menachem.
"And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remains in Jerusalem, shall be called
holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: When Adonay shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof
by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning."
Isaiah 4:3-4 - "But I came by and saw you there, helplessly squirming about in your
polluted blood. As you lay there, I said,
'Live!' And I helped you to thrive like a plant in the field. You grew up and became a beautiful jewel. Your breasts
became full, and your hair grew, though you were still naked. And when I passed by and saw you again, you were
old enough to be married. So I wrapped My prayer shawl around you to cover your nakedness and declared My marriage
vows. I made a Covenant with you, says the Sovereign L-RD, and you became Mine. Then I bathed you and washed off
your blood, and I
rubbed fragrant oils into your skin. I gave you expensive clothing of linen and silk, beautifully embroidered,
and sandals made of fine leather. I gave you lovely jewelry, bracelets, and beautiful necklaces, a ring for your
nose and earrings for your ears, and a lovely crown for your head. And so you were made beautiful with gold and
silver. Your clothes were made of fine linen and were beautifully embroidered. You ate the finest foods--fine flour,
honey, and olive oil--and became more beautiful than ever. You looked like a queen, and so you were!" Ezekiel
16:6-13
How wonderful does our G-d think we are? it is to high to understand, beyond my thinking!
He made a Covenant with us, He calls us and He washes us from all our blood
gulit, will you allow Him to rub in the oil, and allow Him to cover your nakedness? I pray that you do!
Av -Mazal: Aryeh (Leo - lion)
The lion (aryeh) symbolizes the super discerning power of Av, "the Father." The manifestation of "The
Divine" is seen as a Lion in Scriptures. It is Messiah who is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah, yet as
we will see in our tribe section, this month belongs to the Tribe of Shimon, and not Judah (Rev 5:5), why is the
question? The answer will see in the section on Shimon.
The numerical value (Gematria) of Aryeh = 216 and that of the Hebrew word,
Might ("Gevurah"). Gevurah is "the G-d's Divine power" and it is responsible for "G-d's
Divine Light" and is said to be that which caused the Genesis of all things.
"For unto us a child is born, to us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His
Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty G-d, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ...And
the Spirit of the L-RD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Might,
the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Reverence of the L-RD" Isaiah 9:b, 11:2.
In Aryeh constellation is one star called Hydra, the
"old serpent!" The right foot of Aryeh is atop
the head of the serpent, destroying him. This fulfills the Scriptures, "And
I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and
thou shalt bruise his heel." G-d is speaking here in (Genesis 3:15), about the old
serpent being crushed by the Messiah, the Rightous Branch, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. G-d put Aryeh sign in the Heavens to proclaim His glory before man was placed
on the earth. "The Heavens declare the glory of G-d; and the visible arch
of the sky shows G-d's handiwork" Psalm 19:1.
What is this visible half circular arch in the sky? It is the Mazzaroth (Job 38:32 - Zodiac
in Greek), however, its Hebrew understanding is mucher clearer, "circular
path or cycles."
This brings our thinking back to the Festival cycle of the L-RD'S, in Leviticus
23. The Feasts also line up with the signs in the heavens.
Lastly, in Aryeh there is one star that is the brightest "Regulus," which means: "treading under foot." This
completes our picture of the victory of Messiah over Satan, that old twisted serpent. For
G-d has put all things under Messiah's feet. Praise His Holy Name.
Av's Tribe: Shimon
The name Shimon comes from the Hebrew root "to hear - shema." The sin of the 10 spies on the 9th of Av
details their evil speech about the Land G-d had Promised. Now the sin of the people of Israel was in their "hearing" the evil tongues of the 10 evil witnesses
against G-d. Their report was evil, and the sin came when the people believed them, and not the Word of the L-RD. To this very day, "hearing" is still a problem for the people of Israel, not
all of them, but most of them.
Yeshua Messiah spoke of this problem, "Therefore I speak to them (Israel)
in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is
fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, 'By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing
you shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's (Israel) heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull
of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their
ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted (return), and I would heal them'" Matthew 13:13-15.
Shimon is the only tribe that Moses did not explicitly give a blessing to in Torah. Many believe it was due to
Moses frustration with the tribe of Shimon over their involvement in the sin of baal Pe'or. It was Shimon idolatry
with foreign women and prostitution which resulted in his great evil. If you divide Shimon name (sham and avon)
into two words, it spells "there is iniquity, i.e.
sin" However, I really think the meaning is much deeper then that. Please see my article:
"Who Locked Up Israel's Hearing?"
Before the Lion of the tribe of Judah returns to claim his place, He will restore the "hearing" to the tribe of Shimon, just as Joseph did (Genesis 43:23), and it will be with a blessing. The blessing will be the gift of the "Menachem" (the Comforter), the Holy Spirit, when the tribe of Shimon calls out to the L-rd, you are my brother, we will hear you!
And Shimon shall cry out after the Messiah saying: "Save, L-RD: let the King "hear" us when we call"...And the Messiah shall cry
out to them saying: Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, all of you my people,
from far; The L-RD has called Me from the womb; from the bowels of My mother has He made mention of My Name. And He said unto Shimon, Peace be to you! Then Shimon will fall on their brothers neck and be glad." AGI

Vav 6 - ELUL
Elul means: A vain thing - Nothingness
The Vav is the Hebrew letter assigned to this month. The Vav is a nail, as in a tent peg or
hook. The Hebrew word for "hook" is vav vav. Elul is called the month of "Teshuvah" (Repentance).
Elul follows the two previous months of Tamuz and Av, the months of the three great sins of Israel, the sin of
the golden calf and the sin of the 10 spies, and the sin of the peoples hearing.
The name Elul are an acronym
for the initial letters of a phrase in the Song of Songs 6:3: "I
am to my beloved and my beloved is to me."
Repentance consummate the desire for the Hebrews of the world to return (shuva) to their roots in the Almighty
G-d. Elul is the great month of "preparation" for the high holy days in the month
of Tishrei. Elul is the month that Moses ascended to Mount Sinai for a third time.
A period of forty days from rosh chodesh (the new moon) of Elul to Yom Kippur, when Moses then descended with the
second set of tablets of the Covenant. These days were the days when G-d "revealed" (qabal) to the Hebrew
people His great "Lovingkindness" (Checed) by giving then His Holy Torah.
I love this month, it is always filled with great expectancies for me. I was born in this month, Elul 24 1944,
Sept. 12th on the Roman calendar. The Establishment (Genesis 1:1) of the earth was on Elul 25th according to our
sages, and Adam was formed for that earth on the 6th day, or the first day of Rosh HaShanah. I could write a book
on this day, but this will do for now.
Mazal: Betulah (Virgo - virgin)
The Betulah symbolizes 3 things: 1. A Virgin 2. G-d's beloved Bride, Israel.
3. Miriam or Mary, the earthly mother of Yeshua.
The Bride of the Song of Songs (6:3) shouts out to her groom "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" can be seen by Messianic Believers, as the "E'ah" - Congregation of G-d. The Hebrew word "betulah"
appears for the first time in the Hebrew Scriptures, in the Torah. This specific women is one of the matriarch's
of the faith, Rebecca (Rivka). She is called "betulah" before her marriage to Isaac (Yitzchak). The betulah
(virgin) Rebecca brings forth in the month of Elul, tradition tells us this. The Hebrew understanding of "Mother"
is person of great "binah" (understanding). The
Gematria of Binah = 67 and that = the same number as the
month of Elul. The betulah (virgin) Miriam, the Mother
of Yeshua, is seen in this month as well. "Therefore the L-rd himself
shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
Isaiah 7:14 - The
prophet Isaiah also declares: "For as a young
man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So your G-d will
rejoice over you." (Isaiah 62:5).
The first set of tablets given to Moses by G-d, was in the month of Sivan, and these tablets were broken because
of the lasciviousness of the people. The second set of tablets given to Moses, were in the month of Elul (the month
of Teshuvah), these were put into the holy Ark, as a
witness for Israel of the Covenant G-d made with them. This Covenant was the betrothal contract between Israel
and the L-RD. That Covenant holds firm to this day by the work of the Messiah,
on Israel behalf!
Elul's Tribe: Gad
The name Gad means: a troop - fortune or fortunate. "Gad shall establish and organize an army camp, and he shall return with all his camp."
AGI (Genesis 49:19). If the tribe of Gad had any special talents, it was to organize
a "great company" (a troop) to go forth in the name of the L-RD. That is the call of all who Believe
in Messiah Yeshua. This is "good fortune for us" and it is revealed through the person of Messiah, as
well as our good deeds which G-d has appointed for us to do.
Gad = the number 7, and Gad was also the 7th son to be born to Jacob. "And Zilpah
Leah's maid bare Jacob this son. And Leah said, A troop comes (good fortune): and she called his name Gad." Now the most familiar word for 'good fortune' in Hebrew is "Mazel" which just happens to =
the number 77. The middle letter of Mazel is Zayin, the seventh letter in Hebrew. When you put the Gimmel Dalet together you spell the name "Gad" which = 7. However, if you substituted
the Hebrew letter zayin which = 7 of Mazel, you get a new word "Migdal,"
tower. And Proverbs 18:10 states: "The Name of the L-RD is a strong
(oz = 77) tower (migdal =77): the tzadik (righteous) runs into it, and is safe."
That is "mazel" good fortune to all who take refuge in Yeshua Messiah!
A little known prophecy about Messiah in the Word of G-d is found in Micah 4:8: "And thou, O tower of the flock (migdal e'dar), the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem."
A "daughter of Zion or Jerusalem" was a city outside the walls of Jerusalem proper. Micah goes on to say, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be Ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from Everlasting." (Micah 5:2)
Hear the witness of Scripture in the New Covenant:
Matthew 2:1 Now after Yeshua was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days
of Herod the king, magi (sages) from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
2 "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east (Babylon) and have come
to worship Him."
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was
to be born.
5 They said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet:
6 'AND YOU, BETHLEHEM, LAND OF JUDAH, ARE BY NO MEANS LEAST AMONG THE LEADERS OF JUDAH; FOR OUT OF YOU SHALL COME
FORTH A RULER WHO WILL SHEPHERD MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.'"
Yeshua is that SHEPHERD!
